SUMMARY:Rubber Tire Peep Show
DESCRIPTION:Canadian musical collective Rubber Tire Peep Show hits the legendary King Eddy stage on July 18. \nAbout Rubber Tire Peep Show: \nWhen experiencing the Rubber Tire Peep Show\, one may be struck by the inspired authenticity\, fused with an improvisational electricity that gives a slight nod to music of the past… once you get it\, you can’t forget it. \nRubber Tire Peep Show is a Canadian musical collective whose eclectic repertoire spans decades and genres. With deep musical roots and a love of performance\, RTPS’ music is infused with jam-band dynamics\, country-blues sensibility and rock and roll spirit that has captured audiences across Canada. \nLed by founding members Liam Slingerland and Harrison Smith\, the pair dreamt up the project 10 years ago while spending countless hours washing dishes\, and listening to their favourite music to help pass the time their High School job. Their bond grew deep with their passion for music\, as they spoke of someday taking these influences and together playing music of their own. Even in those days\, it was known that band would be called Rubber Tire Peep Show – based on Liam’s suggestion. What they didn’t know at that time\, was just how far these dish-pit daydreams could take them. \nIn 2024\, RTPS set out on two successful multi-provincial tours\, selling out shows across B.C\, Alberta\, Nova Scotia\, and Ontario in support of their debut\, self-titled record. Released in June 2024\, the band has since garnered great attention\, including features from EXCLAIM! Magazine\, CBC Radio 1\, and most recently Halifax Music Archives’ Best of 2024. \nAfter closing out the summer with a sold-out homecoming show in Toronto; a main stage slot at Highlands Music Festival; and landing an opening slot for Sloan in the fall of 2024\, the band was invited to kick off the 2025 New Year with a milestone performance at Massey Hall’s state-of-the-art venue extension\, TD Music Hall. \nThe “Peep Show” is best known for their commitment to the live show and constantly work to bring their audience a unique experience on any given night\, curating both in-studio and live collaborations with an ever growing roster of artists and musicians. Collaborators and sit-in’s spanning from local talents of stops along tour\, to even more notable names of the Canadian music scene such as Tower of Power’s Jordan John\, Katie Tupper\, Matt Mays\, and members of The Trews. \nAlongside “usual suspects”; Max Swiderski\, Patrick Fockler\, and David Matta\, the band is now at work producing new music\, after completing another successful cross-country tour through the spring and summer of 2025\, including appearances at the renowned Ottawa Bluesfest\, the Canadian National Exhibition\, and landing an opening slot for The Trews. The group is in the midst of planning their touring endeavours for 2026.

SUMMARY:Field Guide
DESCRIPTION:Canadian singer-songwriter Field Guide hits the legendary King Eddy stage on July 31. \nAbout Field Guide: \nOver the past five years\, Field Guide has quietly built a reputation as one of Canada’s most compelling new songwriters. With a sound that blends folk intimacy\, indie production\, and timeless pop sensibilities\, he’s taken his music from a Winnipeg basement to international stages and festivals. \nAfter his 2019 debut Full Time\, Field Guide broke out with the 2020 EP You Were\, whose title track found a wide audience thanks to early Spotify support. Subsequent projects showcased his range: collaborations with Toronto indie-darling Georgia Harmer\, debut full-length Make Peace With That\, and a full reimagining of Coldplay’s Parachutes featuring Lizzy McAlpine\, Begonia\, and Dizzy. \nHis 2022 self-titled LP\, co-produced with longtime collaborator Kris Ulrich\, was recorded during one of Manitoba’s coldest winters on record and later mixed by Daniel James Goodwin (Bonny Light Horseman\, Goose)\, the record led to an 18-city European tour supporting Penny & Sparrow\, followed by Field Guide’s first North American headline run with sold-out stops at Mohawk in Austin and The Basement in Nashville. Festival highlights include Winnipeg Folk Festival\, Mariposa\, Treefort\, Mile of Music\, SXSW and The Great Escape. He has also spent much time on the road as support for artists including Bahamas\, SYML\, Wild Rivers\, and Leif Vollebekk. \n2024’s Rootin for Ya pushed his sound further — solitary late night recording of woozy synths and drum machines paired with completely live-off-the-floor tracks. After completing his sophomore 30 date North American tour in 2024\, and an 18 date US tour supporting Austin’s Penny & Sparrow in April 2025\, Field Guide is now in the final stages of completing his forthcoming LP— a body of work that he’s never felt more proud of — the record is set to release in 2026.
