SUMMARY:Songsmith Sundays with Carter Felker
DESCRIPTION:Every week\, country-folk singer-songwriter Carter Felker presents a chill weekend set with a rotating cast of guests. \nThis family-friendly show is best paired with our delicious Sunday brunch! \nBrunch menu: https://kingeddy.ca/menu \nAbout Carter Felker: \nBorn and raised in the Prairies\, Carter Felker’s eyes have seen the length of the wheat fields through many winter mornings\, and the stretch of the sun through many short-lived summers. He has laboured\, he has lost\, and he has loved. Carter uses his own experience\, and his desire to tell a story to create honest\, human-made\, country music. \n“Carter Felker traffics in music\, yes\, but even more profoundly in essence: the humdrum essence of Monday morning alarms clocks coming round again during lifetimes ticking on through thoughtless dawn moments walking across the kitchen floor; the craven essence of sneaking wordlessly away from a relationship and feeling the mute screen door sag shut behind you; the essence of everyday struggles.” – MLW \n— \nMusic starts at 11:30 amNo cover

SUMMARY:Anvil Pounding the Past 2026 Tour with Midnight Hellion and LOVER
DESCRIPTION:Anvil Pounding the Past 2026 ‘Metal On Metal’ ‘Hard N’ Heavy’ ‘Forged In Fire’ with Midnight Hellion\, LOVER and guest selector Cyclopean Gloom \nWhere: Palomino Smokehouse and Social Club109 7 Avenue S.W Calgaryhttp://thepalomino.ca/18+ with government issued identification \nWhen: Wednesday July 1\, 2026 \nDoors: 7:00pm / Action 8:00pm \nAdmission: $22.00 advance at www.showpass.com \nNO JERK POLICY ALWAYS IN EFFECT!! \nAnvil (Toronto)Formed in Toronto in 1978 by childhood friends Steve “Lips” Kudlow (vocals/guitar) and Robb Reiner (drums). They had been playing music together since their teens. Initially known as Lips\, the band added bassist Ian Dickson and rhythm guitarist Dave Allison\, and in 1980 recorded an independent album titled Hard ‘n’ Heavy\, which introduced their penchant for sexual explicitness. Zany antics notwithstanding\, Anvil’s musical contributions were very real; their fastest songs were some of the earliest speed metal laid to wax\, while jazz-trained drummer Robb Reiner set new technical standards for the genre\, including pioneering the double bass drum technique that’s become a staple of much extreme metal since. \nAnvil were one of the first North American bands to push the sound and style of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal one step further. Indebted to the likes of Judas Priest\, Iron Maiden\, and many others from across the Atlantic\, Anvil nonetheless played louder\, faster\, and heavier than their heroes\, in the process laying the groundwork for the thrash movement that took over heavy metal’s underground in the ’80s. Anvil’s second and third albums\, Metal on Metal and Forged in Fire\, made significant waves in the metal community in 1982 and 1983. – www.allmusic.comhttps://www.instagram.com/lipsanvilhttps://www.instagram.com/anvil.metal \nMidnight Hellion (Trenton\, New Jersey)Their distinctive style – classic\, no-frills heavy metal serving tremendously infectious spurts of thrash riffs with a straight\, fun stage attitude – made them a top pick for world-class acts to ignite their respective crowds. Bringing their strong regional fan base to the table\, MIDNITE HELLION shared the stages with OverKill\, Dirkschneider\, Grim Reaper\, Flotsam & Jetsam\, Obituary\, Diamond Head\, Raven\, Exodus\, Yngwie Malmsteen\, and many more.https://www.midnitehellion.comhttps://www.instagram.com/midnitehellion \nLOVEROld school guitar riffs\, 80s heavy metal soulhttps://loverrockofficial.bandcamp.comhttps://www.instagram.com/loverrockofficial \nCyclopean GloomTender of Bars / Analog Addicthttps://www.instagram.com/cyclopean_gloomIn the spirit of reconciliation\, we acknowledge that we live\, work and play on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika\, Kainai\, Piikani)\, the Tsuut’ina First Nation\, the Iyarhe Nakoda (including Chiniki\, Bearspaw\, and Goodstoney First Nations)\, the Battle River Territory of the Métis Nation of Alberta Districts 5 & 6\, and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.NO JERK POLICY ALWAYS IN EFFECT!!
