After an incredible turnout in May, 17th on 17th is back this June with another night of live music across the avenue. Explore five different performances at five locations, discover somewhere new along the way, and experience the kind of summer night that makes 17th feel alive.

This month, the energy keeps going with the Punk Rock Flea Market taking over Tomkins Park at the same time. Expect vintage finds, local vendors, music, and plenty of reasons to spend the night exploring the avenue.

– Calgary Opera at Qamaria Yemeni Coffee
From Calgary Opera, soprano Pat Cuikani and bass-baritone Joshua R. Read will serenade you with light-hearted opera and musical theatre hits, hummable tunes, and delightful duets. Find them at Qarmaria Yemeni Coffee, 1441 17 Ave SW.

– Leo Martinez Project at Gravity Pope
As a solo artist, Martinez has sold out shows in Edmonton, opened for the likes of Boogie Patrol and Jay Allen, and continues to impress his audiences with his high energy performances. He combines a strong sense of rhythm with a gritty vocal style, often playing both guitar and bass drum while delivering classic and original material. Listen to Leo outside Gravity Pope, 1126 17 Ave Sw.

– FŸK in Tomkins Park
FŸK is what happens when studio-grade precision meets a total lack of impulse control. Born from a collective “yes” to a punk covers set, and a subsequent refusal to stick to the script, the band plays like a karaoke machine you can’t control. Find them at Tonkins Park.

– Eh Train Quartet at Servus Credit Union
Jazz ensembles that will keep you swingin’! Come on board & enjoy the finest in musical entertainment. Sax Quartet consists of Paul Evans (Soprano), Ken Drabinsky (Alto), Malcolm McKay (Tenor) and Alex Willies (Baritone). They will be performing at Servus Credit Union, 706 17 Ave SW.

– Ben Rose at Element Café
Ben Rose (aka Café Rosé) is all about the songs. His originals will break your heart. His covers will soothe your soul. His guitar and his voice impress in their own right but they’re only there to serve the songs. He plays Country, Soul, Rock and Roll. Find him at Element Café, 331 17 Ave SW.
